Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 9, 2026
Our Commitment
Tomorrows Compass is committed to making our website and assessment platform as accessible as possible to all users, including people with disabilities. We are working towards meeting the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards across our digital services.
Accessibility is an ongoing effort. We are transparent about where we are today and what we are actively working to improve.
Scope
This statement applies to:
- www.tomorrows-compass.com — our marketing website
- discover.tomorrows-compass.com — the Tomorrows Compass Assessment Platform
What We Have Implemented
The following accessibility features are currently in place:
Visual Design
- Dark colour scheme with light text designed for readability and reduced eye strain
- Respect for user preferences including reduced motion — we honour the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting to minimise animations for users who have requested it - Responsive design that adapts to different screen sizes, orientations, and zoom levels
- Text can be resized without loss of content or functionality
Content and Structure
- Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy across all pages
- Descriptive link text throughout the site
- Form fields with associated labels on all input forms
- Error messages that describe what went wrong and how to correct it
- Readable font sizes with comfortable line heights and generous spacing
Interaction
- Visible focus indicators for keyboard users (
:focus-visiblestyles) - No auto-playing audio or video content
- No content that flashes more than three times per second
- Rate-limited forms with clear loading and success states
Documents
- PDF assessment reports include basic document structure
- Legal pages rendered with proper semantic headings and structured content
Known Limitations and Areas for Improvement
We are honest about the areas where our accessibility can and should improve:
- Colour contrast: While our dark theme with light text is generally readable, we have not yet conducted a comprehensive contrast audit against WCAG AA ratios (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text) across all components. Some secondary text and subtle UI elements may fall below these thresholds.
- Skip navigation: We do not currently provide skip-to-content links, which would help keyboard and screen reader users bypass repetitive navigation.
- Screen reader testing: We have not yet conducted formal testing with screen readers (such as NVDA, JAWS, or VoiceOver). While we use semantic HTML and some ARIA attributes, there may be gaps in the experience for screen reader users.
- ARIA implementation: Our use of ARIA landmarks, roles, and attributes is limited. Some interactive components may not provide sufficient context for assistive technology users.
- Image descriptions: Alt text is present on many images but coverage is not yet comprehensive across all pages, particularly on decorative and background images.
- Assessment experience: The 168-question assessment is delivered as a sequential form. While there are no time limits, the experience has not been optimised or formally tested for users relying on assistive technologies.
- Data visualisations: Charts and graphs on the assessment dashboard may not be fully accessible to screen readers. We aim to provide text-based alternatives alongside visual representations.
- Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party services (such as the Cloudflare Turnstile verification widget) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control.
- PDF reports: Generated PDF reports include basic structure but do not yet meet full PDF/UA (Universal Accessibility) standards. Users can request alternative formats.
- Legacy blog content: Some older blog posts may have inconsistent heading structures or missing image descriptions.
What We Are Working On
We are actively working to improve accessibility across our platforms. Our priorities include:
- Conducting a comprehensive colour contrast audit and addressing any failures
- Adding skip-to-content navigation links
- Improving ARIA landmark and role coverage
- Conducting screen reader testing and addressing findings
- Ensuring complete alt text coverage across all meaningful images
- Reviewing and improving the assessment experience for assistive technology users
